Lee's Tae Kwon Do Association.

 

The Lee's Tae Kwon Do roots begin in Korea with late Great Grand Master Soon Bae Kim 10th Degree Black belt, Founder of the Chang Moo Kwan Great Grand Master Kim's student is Great Grand Master Moo Yong Yun, 10th degree Black Belt and the person responsible for starting some of the first Tae Kwon Do schools in the midwest in the 1970's. Grand Master Michael Lee is Great Grand Master Yun's student. Grand Master Lee is an 8th degree Black Belt, Grand Master Instructor, certified examiner, and found of the Lee's Tae Twon DO Association. Lee's Tae Kwon Do came to Marshall MN in 1986 when Grand Master Lee began his school there with the approval of Great Master Yun. It has since expanded to many gyms with hundreds of students in communities throughout South Dakota and Minnesota. We are very fortunate to have suck close ties with such high-ranking Koeran Masters.

Grand Master Michael Lee is a certified 8th Degree Black Belt through World Tae Kwon DO (WT) and the Chang Moo Kwan, 6th Dan in Hop Ki Do, 4th Dan in Kum Do (Korean Art of the Sword). He is also a certified examiner for the Kukkiwon, which means all color belt ranks tested in our program have a certified rank that is recognized by the WT. All Black Belt certifications come directly from the Kukkiwon, the official WT Headquaartes in Seoul, South Korea. WT certification is the only certification recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This means all Olympic competitors must be WT certified. In addition to his martial arts credentials, Grand Master Lee is a certified elementary school teacher and began his teaching career at area schools before devoting himself to Taek Kwon Do instruction full time.
